Intercom Equipment can be the backbone of good communication in a theater. From calling cues during a show to interfacing the shop from the stage or any number of long range communication, Vincent Lighting Systems has everything you need to build, maintain and enhance your Intercom System.
Intercom systems keep your staff and crew connected. Most intercoms are centered around a wired base station or a wireless base station which often includes a stage manager panel. Wired systems typically employ 3 pin XLR cables to connect beltpacks to the main station and a 4 pin XLR connection to attach the headset to the beltpack. Single channel systems can be cost effective but dual channel intercoms allow for the separation of communications by department, keeping the lighting crew on task, by sending sound crew and stage crew instructions on separate channels. Wireless intercom systems offer additional mobility to crew members who cannot be tethered to a wall station. Wireless intercoms vary in signal strength depending on the model, the range of frequencies and antennae deployed. They can also be bridged to a wired system for extended range. Many intercom systems can be used in conjunction with cue lights and Interruptible Feedback(IFBs). Intercom solutions from Clear-Com and Production Intercom encompass telephone style handsets, dual and single muff headsets, radio based communications, and even advanced solutions that employ IP and telephony technologies to deliver production communications over computer networks and cell phones. Intercom networks can be tailored to the needs of churches, schools, and theaters or designed to address the diverse requirements of larger concert venues, video facilities, theme parks and television studios.
