Quartz location lighting fixtures are an excellent choice for shooting film and video indoors. Combined with color correction filters they can also be used outdoors though HMI heads are typically preferred for daylight applications. Quartz location fixtures include open face pars, compact fresnels, and a number of wash fixtures including softlights, flood fills, and cyc lights. Sometimes referred to as Tungsten lampheads, these fixtures offer a warm color temperature and compact design for easy rigging and strike. Many location lighting lampheads include an integral stand attachment, but additional grip items are available in our grip accessories area. The most common quartz and tungsten lampheads draw between 300W and 650Watts, but larger location lampheads in the 1000W-2000Watt range are also available for lighting large locations and subjects positioned any significant distance from your lighting rig. Many quartz location lampheads are now compatible with compact fluorescent lamps.
