Rigging equipment is used in the suspension and positioning of lighting gear, sound equipment and scenery. Rated by capacity in tons, wire rope hoists, chain motors and chain hoists lift and suspend truss, battens, flats and frames over stages and audiences. Vincent Lighting can help you find the right gear for your space.
Various specifications go into creating the best rig for the job. Chain length must be specified to ensure proper drop heights and the right control system must be in place. Control options for lifting apparatus such as a chain motor or electric hoist include individual controllers (often called pickles or pickle controllers), standard motor control panels, and custom panels designed to meet your specific application needs for safe rigging in your theater, school, or house of worship.
In addition to manual hoists and electric motors, we can provide you with rigging hardware such as shackles, turnbuckles, wire rope and wire rope accessories. Batten hangers, roundslings(typically referred to as nylon slings or spansets though most roundslings now employ a Dacron core) and steel slings are the most common attachment devices when hanging pipes, truss, or battens. Some roundslings now include a steel core for additional rigging safety and added fire protection.
Sound systems can be suspended from a number of standard and proprietary devices. Eyebolts, D rings and strap hangars are common hardware used in lifting and positioning speakers and arrays. Scenic rigging hardware typically includes top and bottom hangers, but may also include D-Rings with plates, Scheel Brace Cleats, and ceiling plates. We provide rigging equipment, rigging hardware and rigging accessories from the most trusted names in stage rigging including: James Thomas Engineering, Rosco, The Light Source, Stagemaker, Bogen, Genie, and Petzl. Sandbags and stage weights are available for theatres who may be using hemp systems, single purchase systems, or manual counterweight fly systems.
